WELFARE MINISTRY

WELFARE MINISTRY

Amen community welfare ministry
The word WELFARE simply means taking care of general health, happiness and safety of a person, animal or group.
MINISTRY: A department that has a particular area of responsibility in the government, organization or group.
AMEN COMMUNITY: An organization of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Nigeria in the St. Patrick Catholic Church Ojo Alaba entrusted to the Renewal of the faith of the faithful in the Church.
Then the Amen Community Welfare Ministry is a department of the community entrusted to the general heath, happiness and safety of its members in all its gatherings (Programs) or you might say they are the ministry concerned with the general well being of the members of the Community both the leaders and the led, you can call it the mother of the Community.
The ministry came into existence due to rise in the needs of the community and its members as in the case of the early Church in the Acts of Apostles 6:17. Just like what happened in the desert where Jesus fed the Five Thousand people, it was possible because of the Welfare team. You might call them Jesus Disciples, what the seven-man committee did in the Act 6 and the one did by the disciples of Jesus in Jn. 6:1-15, Mk. 18:1-10, Mt. 15:32-39, Mt. 14:13-21, Mk.6:30-44,Lk. 9:10-17).

Members of this family are men and women of honest report, people filled with wisdom and Holy Spirit. Because of the nature of  it’s work, it’s not a ministry for every “Dick and Harry”. Anyone that aspire to be a member;
1.     Must be of honest report.
2.     Must be a man or woman full of wisdom
3.     Must be filled with the Holy Spirit. (Act 6:3 KJV).

That is to say that the ministry is not meant for everybody, it is meant for the people that possess the above mentioned qualities, Time has proven that the members of this ministry truly are of the above qualities, for both members and none members of the community who do attend our rallies and other programs have attested that the members of this ministry are truly anointed servants of the Most High.
As said in the beginning that the renewal are entrusted to the renewal of the faithful in the church, we in the ministry of welfare are not at all local champions. In every group in the church our members are found there, be it Parish Pastorial Council, Laity Council, Church Warden, CCF, CCM, CWO, only to mention but few, also in the Deanery and the Archdiocese the Lord is making use of our members for the renewal of the Church and that is to confirm the word of God that says that the entire human race is waiting for the earnest manifestation of the Sons of God. No wonder the Bible says that a city set on a hill cannot be hidden and that no one lights a lamp and puts it under the table but on the top for men to use it and see (Mt. 5:13-20).
Call this ministry, ministry of LOVE you are not making a mistake for that is what the ministry is. It is this love that makes the rich men and women in the ministry to put their riches aside and subject themselves to servant-hood in the House of God. There are times you see them washing toilets or doing security work or standing on the main road controlling the traffic during the gathering of the saints. This same love have made the members of the ministry to be having a thanksgiving offering every month through which huge amount of  money are being raised and been used to lift the burdens in the life of the sick, the widows, the orphans, less privileged and the homeless members of the community thereby fulfilling Jesus’ demand of Mt. 25:31-40.

The leadership of this ministry makes sure that its members are spiritual equipped through series of Spirit uplifting programs they organize for the ministry regularly e.g.
1.     40 days prayer project that starts every Ash Wednesday and ends on Easter Sunday.
2.     Weekly Ministry Bible Study
3.     Monthly Revival
4.     Quarterly Workshop and seminar.

Note: We are not writing this to attract praise but that as you read through you will ask yourself questions, if you are a profitable or an unprofitable servant in the house.
